• There are 12 Berths at Karachi Port where General Cargo Vessels can be safely accommodated.
• Max permissible draft is 10.5 MTER SSW, LOA : 225 MTR, BEAM 32 MTRS.
• Density : 1025
• No Restrictions of Air Draft.
• At Karachi Port Vessel Berth / Un-Berth round the clock with favorable tide.
• Covered sheds are available subject to space.
• Stevedores work in two shifts at Karachi Port namely Day & Night (0700 – 1630 and 1900-0430) Round the clock (Except for meals and tea breaks), Sunday / Holidays Stevedores work Overtime @ 50% additional rates.
• Average loading rate for bagged cement (1 Ton Jumbo bag) is about 3000 MT per day.
• Presently Karachi Port is congested and may expect 4/5 days waiting at Karachi Port however with our good contacts we can manage minimum waiting.
• It takes about 1.5 Hrs from Pilot Station to the berth at Karachi Port.
• CGO is always discharged using ship’s gears, however, shore cranes may be engaged with prior booking at cost of Party requesting the same.
• Bunkers available.
• Fresh water available, Cost about US $ 5 PMT.
• May to August, Monsoon prevails and weather is generally moderate / rough with swells, and scattered rains.
• 14th August is a National Holiday.
